CATS See Say: Free Security App for Riders

The CATS See Say App provides the public with a convenient and discreet platform to report safety and security concerns directly to CATS Transit. Users can submit photos, 6-second videos, text descriptions, and locations of suspicious individuals or activities. The app’s interface offers two straightforward options for reaching CATS Police:

• The “Report a Problem” feature enables users to send texts or photos directly to CAT Transit. To uphold privacy, the app automatically disables the camera flash when capturing images. When submitting a report, users can specify locations and report categories to aid CATS Police. Moreover, riders have the option to submit reports anonymously.
• The “Call Transit Police” function allows customers to connect directly with CATS Police.

The app is engineered for reliable performance even in areas with weak signal strength. Reports sent from locations without cellular/WiFi connectivity are stored and transmitted once connectivity is reestablished. Furthermore, the system prioritizes sending text descriptions ahead of photos to provide swift information to law enforcement.

Additional Features

• BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Alerts: The CATS See Say App may issue alerts from CATS Police concerning specific individuals of interest. For instance, it could share details about missing persons or children, including their last known whereabouts. If a user encounters an individual identified in a BOLO Alert, they are advised to promptly contact 911 and discreetly submit an app report to CATS Police.
